In my personal experience of heading a security services company now for over a decade, I have found people find it difficult to monitor the activities of the security guards deployed on their sites, especially at night or during the holidays. In this mail, I will share with you my views on how you can be sure security guards are awake and patrolling the site at the comfort of your home.

A few questions that will always strike your mind are “Is the Security guard at the premises periodically patrolling the complete premise at night?” or “Is the security guard sleeping or even worse is not present at your premises at night or on holidays?” All these questions can leave your premises open to a theft, fire or any such incident and thus put you in a worried state of mind.

An application-based security monitoring system can help you in resolving this issue. In this the SG scans the QR codes affixed at various locations at the site in a predetermined interval say every one hour. The security guard has to physically go to each of those such identified locations and scan the QR code. Subsequently a report is generated to track if the security guard did indeed scan all checkpoints or did he miss them. For any missed scan, the application identifies the same and shows it in the report. In this way it can be ensured that the guard always remains on his toes. The report can be accessed by the premise owner/manager as well to monitor the complete movement of the security guards. All this will ensure that it is you who is sleeping peacefully and not your guard.

So, do speak to your security service provider to provide such a system and eliminate any chances of mishap at your premises.
